Welcome Coach Michael Oseguera

We are excited to announce and welcome Mike Oseguera current Assistant coach at LMU to the California Rush family.

He will be coaching our B09 Rush team out of Huntington Beach and will also look at conducting GK training both privates and group sessions along with camps throughout the year.

Here is some more information on Mike:
Oseguera spent six years (2009-14) at Concordia University, Irvine working with both the men's and women's programs as an assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. During his tenure with the Eagles, the men's and women's programs won a combined three GSAC regular season championships and three GSAC Tournament titles.

He was also instrumental in recruiting current MLS striker Christian Ramirez to CUI, where Ramirez earned GSAC Player of the Year and broke the school scoring record in only two seasons.

Also, during his time in Irvine, Oseguera trained five All-Golden State Athletic Conference goalkeepers, two All-American goalkeepers and 14 GSAC Defenders/Goalkeepers of the Week.

Oseguera also has a deep history in Southern California club and high school soccer. Having coached at numerous clubs in the area, Oseguera served as a head coach for Pateadores FC, Slammers FC, West Coast FC, NHBFC and goalkeeper coach for Strikers FC DA. He was also the Associate Head Coach for the Servite High School Boys Varsity team that won the first CIF Southern Section championship in school history in 2015.

Oseguera began his coaching career as a goalkeeper coach and graduate assistant at Cal State Fullerton in 2006. He has also served as the assistant coach in the semi-pro ranks with the Orange County Blue Star PDL U23 from 2009-13.

A four-year student-athlete at Cal, Oseguera was named an All-Pac-10 honorable mention selection as a sophomore in 2003, and was on the Bears' Pac-10 Championship team in 2006. He went on to compete for the California Cougars of Major Indoor Soccer League (2006) and had trials with both the LA Galaxy and Chivas USA.

He earned his bachelor of arts degree in social welfare from Cal in 2006 and recently completed his Masters of Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University, Irvine. He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) "C" license.
